Royal Commission for Riyadh City to Launch Sustainable City Symposium Tomorrow

Riyadh, November 11, 2019, SPA -- The Royal Commission for Riyadh City will launch Riyadh Sustainable City Symposium tomorrow at King Fahd National Library with the presence of more than 60 international experts from international academic and research institutions to discuss the future of Riyadh as a sustainable city looking to enhance the quality of life of its citizens. Participation of experts will include research and discussion of climate change issues, sustainable urban development, conservation of the natural environment, resource management, energy conservation, production and management, and discussion of legal frameworks and initiatives to support positive change. The two-day forum will also highlight the four most ambitious projects in Riyadh launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud emanating from the initiative of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense. These projects include King Salman Park, one of the largest urban parks in the world; a sports track that will form a new destination from east to west of Riyadh for walking and cycling in the center of the capital; Riyadh Green project focusing on planting 7.5 million trees; Riyadh Art project for attracting the interest of art enthusiasts through 1000 artistic works and landmarks; and artistic designs and an annual festival full of world-class interactive programs. -- SPA 13:06 LOCAL TIME 10:06 GMT 0006 www.spa.gov.sa/w1207836
