US State Department Delegation Pays Visit to National Human Rights' Association

Riyadh, Sha'ban 21, 1439, May 7, 2018, SPA -- US State Department delegation, led by the Democracy and Human Rights Chief, at the US State Department Sabana Patel, and accompanying delegation, currently on a visit to the Kingdom, paid a visit here today to the National Human Rights' Association. During the visit, the US official and accompanying delegation were received by the Chairman of the association Dr. Muflih bin Rabia'an Al-Qahtani. On the other hand, Al-Qahtani briefed the delegation on the activities of the association, especially in the field of dissemination of legal-related culture, in particular, and the quantum leap on human rights front, namely allowing women to drive, in addition to other rights they secured, in so many domains. The two sides also discussed the latest US State Department report on human rights status, and Al-Qahtani drew attention of the visiting delegation to the uniqueness of the Saudi legal mechanisms, in order to best understand the human rights situation, in the kingdom, that reflects and goes in tandem with the Saudi society's values and norms. -- SPA 20:46 LOCAL TIME 17:46 GMT 0025 www.spa.gov.sa/w683756
