The Ministry of Human Resources and Social development (MHRSD) has announced the beginning of the second phase of obligating the establishments to document 50% of the employees" contracts through the Qiwa platform. MHRSD has determined the percentage of commitment required to document contracts from the total of the establishment" employees, according to each quarter of 2023, as follows: 20% at the Q1, 50% at the Q2, while Q3 must be 80%. Documenting the contracts service aims to preserve the rights of all parties, both of the employers and the employees, also to provide a healthy work environment that helps increase employee stability and productivity. The service will also contribute in monitoring the establishments" commitment to the labor law, ensuring the validity of contract data, and reducing disputes. The service allows the uploading and updating of the information of the employee"s contracts in the private sector, both Saudis and non-Saudis, as well as enabling the employees to check the validity of their contract data electronically. MHRSD clarified that after establishing an employment contract by the establishment, the workers then approve or reject it, or also to request for amending it through their account on Qiwa platform. The employee"s contract will be approved and considered documented by MHRSD, after the employer and employee agree.
