DUBAI: Dutch Moroccan Egyptian model Imaan Hammam was named this week as the global ambassador for US cosmetics giant Estée Lauder, she announced on Instagram. For the latest updates, follow us on Instagram @arabnews.lifestyle “Beyond thrilled to announce my newest role as a Global Ambassador for @esteelauder,” she wrote to her 1.6 million followers. “It’s truly an honor and a dream to join the Estee Lauder family. I’m so excited to show you all the incredible things we have in store. Stay tuned.” The catwalk star shared a short video that featured clips of herself in multiple looks. For her first look, she wore a thigh-high gown with a full-length sheer embroidered dress over it, accessorizing her look with layered necklaces, dangling earrings and chunky rings. She wore a hot-red latex jumpsuit for her second look, pairing the get-up with a bright red lip. The video then transitions to her third outfit, an orange knit set featuring a crop top and a skirt. Her friends, US-Somali catwalk star Halima Aden, French Cindy Bruna, US model Meghan Roche and US singer Ebony Riley, took to Instagram to congratulate Hammam. “Congratulations!!” Aden wrote, while Bruna said: “Yesss Congratulations sis!!!” adding fire and heart emojis. Hammam is one of the most in-demand models in the industry. She was scouted in Amsterdam’s Centraal Station before making her catwalk debut in 2013 by walking in Jean Paul Gaultier’s couture show. Hammam has appeared on the runway for major fashion houses, such as Burberry, Fendi, Prada, Marc Jacobs, Moschino, Balenciaga and Carolina Herrera, to name a few, and starred in international campaigns for DKNY, Celine, Chanel, Versace, Givenchy, Giorgio Armani, Tiffany & Co. and more. Hammam turned heads this week at the Met Gala wearing a white dress by Irish designer Michael Stewart’s label Standing Ground. The form-fitting, long-sleeved dress had cream-colored fringe detailing at the waist. US-Palestinian-Dutch model Gigi Hadid was also in attendance. She wore a Givenchy ensemble in black with feathers, a drop waist and a sheer train in tulle. It took more than 300 hours to make. US beauty influencer Meredith Duxbury championed Saudi designer Honayda Serafi at the Met Gala after-party. She donned a long black tulle dress with a checkered twill collar from the designer’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection.
