KSrelief chief visits Egyptian conjoined twins ‘Salma and Sarah’ two weeks after their separation

RIYADH: General Supervisor of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah on Thursday visited Egyptian conjoined twins — Salma and Sarah — to check on their health, two weeks after undergoing a successful separation operation, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Friday. Al-Rabeeah, who is also the adviser at the Royal Court and head of the medical and surgical team in separating conjoined twins, visited the twins at King Abdullah Specialist Children’s Hospital in the King Abdulaziz Medical City of the Ministry of National Guard in the Saudi capital, Riyadh. Dr. Al-Rabeeah expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the medical staff treating the twins and wished the children a speedy recovery. Before the operation, Salma and Sarah were attached at the head from birth. They underwent a complex surgery that lasted 17 hours and was conducted by a team of 31 surgeons, consultants, specialists, and nursing and technical personnel.
