King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) on Thursday inaugurated a project to support food security in Pakistan. The inauguration ceremony at the Kingdom"s embassy in Islamabad was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, Pakistani Minister of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Senator Muhammad Talha Mahmood, and Director of the KSrelief office in Pakistan Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Othmani. The project aims to distribute 105,000 food baskets in four stages. Each basket contains basic commodities. The food baskets will benefit 735,000 people from the neediest groups in 37 flood-affected areas in the provinces of Sindh, Baluchistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Punjab. Ambassador Al-Malki said this project is a continuation of the support provided by the Saudi government to Pakistan under the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the Crown Prince through KSrelief. Pakistani Minister Talha Mahmood expressed his appreciation on behalf of the Pakistani government and the Pakistani people to the Kingdom for the continuous humanitarian support it provides to the affected groups in Pakistan. The assistance comes within the relief and humanitarian efforts that the Kingdom is providing, through KSrelief, in many countries around the world. — SPA
