JEDDAH: The Tayf Aziz convoy, a project run by the Charitable Society of Autism Families, has reached the Madinah region as part of its Kingdom-wide journey. Its primary objective is to offer aid and support to families with members affected by autism spectrum disorder and behavioral disorders. In partnership with the Tayf Aziz Center for Autism Spectrum Disorder and Neurodevelopmental Disorders, the convoy will visit 53 cities, governorates, and villages in 13 regions across the Kingdom. The goal of the partnership is to make a meaningful difference in the lives of autistic individuals and their families by providing them with the essential care and resources they need. The convoy has embarked on a tour across three locations in the Madinah region: Madinah city, Al-Mahd, and Yanbu. Starting from the Madinah headquarters, the convoy journeyed to Al-Hijrah Walk. In the Mahd Al-Dahab governorate, it proceeded along Al-Mahd Walk. The convoy will conclude its tour on Monday in Yanbu governorate. Anwar Al-Nu’man, the manager of the convoy, said that the project is designed to be an integrated clinic equipped with the latest equipment and advanced technologies. The convoy also enables visitors to communicate concerns with doctors and specialists via a digital questionnaire. Al-Nu’man added: “The convoy aims to support families of autistic individuals by providing them with multiple services, including outreach programs, to raise awareness among families and society. “It also aims to detect autism at an early stage using advanced technical means, conduct effective tests and measures, and deliver health services through care service providers based on geographic location. “Additionally, the convoy provides direct consultations by specialists, either in person or remotely, in equipped clinics.” The convoy assisted hundreds of people in the Northern Borders region, specifically in Arar, Rafha, and Turaif, before arriving in the Madinah region. Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Riyadh’s deputy governor, officially inaugurated the Tayf Aziz convoy in early June. Prince Mohammed and Prince Saud bin Abdulaziz bin Farhan, the chairman of the board of directors for the Charitable Society of Autism Families, then inspected the convoy’s electronic services and equipment. They also discussed the convoy’s objective of supporting families affected by autism. The convoy includes a custom-built bus equipped with cutting-edge technology. Its main objective is to help visitors’ understanding of autism by directly addressing their inquiries through an electronic platform. It also provides visitors with a virtual experience to give them some idea of what it is like to live with autism. It connects families with healthcare providers based on location, ensuring that they have access to vital consultations while enabling them to schedule appointments with doctors and specialists. The convoy, which will travel approximately 12,000 km across the Kingdom during its four-month journey, aims to gather statistical data on autism spectrum disorder in order to better understand it and its prevalence within communities.
