Jack Taylor fired home early in the second half to hand the Championship club Ipswich a stunning comeback win against Wolves in the third round of the Carabao Cup. Kieran McKenna’s second-string side appeared down and out when Hwang Hee-Chan and Toti scored inside the opening 15 minutes for their Premier League opponents. However, Omari Hutchinson started the Ipswich revival with a fine 28th-minute finish and Freddie Ladapo levelled before the break, leaving Taylor to score from 25 yards and seal a 3-2 win at Portman Road. Burnley put their Premier League issues behind them as they eased to a 4-0 win at League Two strugglers Salford. Anass Zaroury had a hand in all four goals as Sander Berge, Jacob Bruun Larsen and Dara O’Shea put the result beyond doubt inside the opening half-hour before Wilson Odobert marked his full debut with a late fourth. Goals from Emmanuel Latte Lath and Morgan Rogers gave Middlesbrough a comfortable 2-0 win at League Two Bradford, while Funso Ojo’s late strike enabled Port Vale to edge a 2-1 win against Sutton. Two goals from Jonson Clarke-Harris were not enough for Peterborough, who were beaten on penalties by their League Two hosts Mansfield after a 2-2 draw.
