Minister of Culture Prince Badr Bin Abdullah Bin Farhan and Omani Minister of Culture, Sports, and Youth, Sayyid Dhi Yazin Bin Haitham Al-Said signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to elevate cooperation and cultural exchange between the two nations. The MoU encompasses a wide range of cultural domains, including heritage, architecture, design arts, visual and performing arts, literature, books and publishing, language and translation, fashion, Islamic decoration, traditional culinary arts, and cinema. The collaboration aims to promote international cultural exchange, aligning with the strategic goals set forth by Saudi Vision 2030. The signing ceremony in Riyadh signifies a shared commitment to fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of each other"s cultural heritage. The MoU outlines the commitment to developing cultural cooperation in various fields, facilitating the exchange of expertise on regulations, organizations, and policies governing the cultural sector. It also includes the implementation of agreements previously reached with UNESCO. Both countries commit to active participation in each other"s festivals and cultural events, promoting cross-cultural understanding. The memorandum further facilitates communication between cultural entities and intellectuals from Saudi Arabia and Oman. The agreement highlights the joint execution of strategic projects in diverse cultural fields, emphasizing the rich cultural tapestries of both nations. Additionally, art residency programs for representatives of government and private institutions will be implemented to encourage cross-border cultural exchange. A significant aspect of the collaboration includes joint efforts in executing projects related to the preservation of heritage, demonstrating a collective dedication to safeguarding cultural legacies.
