Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Islamic Affairs represented by the religious attache, Ahmed Al-Hazmi, at the Kingdom’s Embassy in Indonesia, concluded the final qualifiers for the Holy Qur’an competition in Central Java and Yogyakarta governorates, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Monday. A total of 60 contestants from 53 organizations participated in the contest categories of entire Holy Qur’an memorization, 20 parts memorization, and 10 parts memorization. There were 18 winners, nine men and nine women, in the competition. The closing ceremony was attended by military and civilian officials and representatives from the Council of Scholars and Islamic institutions. The competition is part of the ministry’s global advocacy and cultural programs in coordination with embassies, promoting Islamic culture and knowledge.
