In an announcement at the World Travel Market in London, Red Sea Global (RSG) revealed its foray into the hospitality sector with the launch of its luxury hotel brand, "Shebara." Set to open its doors in the summer of 2024, Shebara marks RSG"s first resort owned and operated at The Red Sea destination. Positioned on Sheybarah Island within the thriving Al Wajh Lagoon, the resort features iconic stainless steel orbs and is actively recruiting a world-class operational team in preparation for its grand opening. John Pagano, Group CEO of RSG, expressed, "Shebara is a beacon for all that RSG stands for, showcasing the very best in Saudi hospitality while setting new standards in responsible development and sustainable operations." The resort encompasses 73 keys, including overwater and beach villas, providing guests with a unique and immersive experience. Accessible by a 45-minute boat ride or a 20-minute seaplane journey from the mainland, Shebara is strategically located on Sheybarah Island, boasting a spectacular 30 to 40-meter reef drop-off close to the beach. Designed by Killa Design, Shebara"s architecture seamlessly integrates with the natural environment, reflecting the colors and patterns of the ocean and sky. The overwater orbs create a mesmerizing effect, appearing as a string of pearls levitating above the water. The resort offers two specialty restaurants, family and adult-only pools, a spa, fitness center, and exclusive booking options for the furthermost island with a private beach and barbecue area. RSG has prioritized sustainability, powering Shebara with its dedicated solar farm consisting of over 11,000 PV panels. This aligns with the broader commitment to make The Red Sea a fully solar-powered destination. The launch of Shebara adds a new dimension to Saudi Arabia"s burgeoning tourism sector, with The Red Sea already experiencing remarkable growth. As part of Vision 2030, the Kingdom aims to increase tourism"s share of GDP, targeting hosting 150 million visitors annually by 2030. RSG"s Shebara, along with other developments at The Red Sea, contributes to this ambitious goal, making Saudi Arabia a compelling global tourism destination.
