As part of the measures to improve customs exemption procedures, the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources has sought the opinions and viewpoints of the stakeholders in the private sector. The ministry has launched a new service through its Senaei platform to receive views on the list of customs items that have been restricted and exempted from customs duties related to industry inputs. The ministry invited the private sector companies and establishments to participate in the survey through submitting their views whether they are supporting or not supporting the move to lift the restriction on the listed items so that the ministry can complete work on the project to improve procedures for customs exemptions and empower the private sector by raising the level of competitiveness of Saudi products. It is noteworthy that the ministry provides customs exemption services, which enable the industrial investor to obtain customs exemption for the industrial facility since the issuance of the industrial license under the Common Industrial Regulatory Law (Regulation) of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. This will be through giving exemption from customs duties on imports of machinery and equipment, spare parts, primary raw materials, semi-finished materials, finished materials, and packaging materials that are directly required for production.
