Cabinet reiterates Kingdom's rejection of Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip

The Cabinet, chaired Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman in Riyadh on Tuesday, discussed the developments in the Palestinian arena and the international efforts in this regard, and reiterated the Kingdom"s rejection of the Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip. The Cabinet also stressed the need to cease fire immediately, allow the access of aid, and prevent the forced displacement of the population, while, at the same time, create conditions for the return of stability and the achievement of lasting and sustainable peace. The Cabinet was briefed on the meetings and talks senior Saudi officials had with counterparts in different countries over the past few days with the aim of strengthening cooperation, coordination, and multilateral action. The Cabinet also discussed the outcomes of the Non-Aligned Movement Summit, Third South Summit of the G77 and China, and of the IGAD Summit, in which the Kingdom played a pivotal role, as it does in global politics and economics, and which show its keenness to strengthen cooperation in order to contribute to the security, stability and development of the region and the world as a whole. The Cabinet also reviewed the Saudi delegation"s contribution to the World Economic Forum, which was held in Davos and where it was announced that Riyadh will host a special session of the forum on "Global Cooperation, Growth and Energy" in April, as well as the Kingdom"s efforts and international initiatives to preserve the environment, mitigate the effects of climate change, and lead the global economic movement toward a better future. Minister of Media Salman Bin Yousef Al-Dosari told the Saudi Press Agency after the session that the Cabinet approved a memorandum of understanding between Saudi Arabia and India regarding electricity connection, green/ clean hydrogen, and supply chains. It approved an agreement between Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Korea regarding mutual exemption from short-term visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, special and official passports. The Cabinet authorized the minister of foreign affairs, or a deputy, to discuss and sign a draft memorandum of understanding with the Cambodian counterpart on political consultations. It approved the Arab Convention for the Prevention and Combating of Human Cloning. The Cabinet approved a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture of Saudi Arabia and the Environment Authority of the Sultanate of Oman in the field of environment. It approved an agreement between the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture of Saudi Arabia and the Center for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (CEDARE) to cooperate in the field of environment. The Cabinet approved a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Tourism of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China to facilitate the travel of Chinese tourist delegations to Saudi Arabia. It authorized the minister of investment to discuss and sign a draft memorandum of understanding with the Mauritian side to promote direct investment. The Cabinet approved a memorandum of understanding regarding cooperation in the future of transport and innovation in the transport, logistics and road sectors between the Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Korea, and a memorandum of understanding between the Roads General Authority of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Korea. It authorized the president of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority, or a deputy, to discuss and sign a draft memorandum of understanding with the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences regarding cooperation in training to fight corruption. The Cabinet approved a memorandum of cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Malaysia regarding mutual recognition of halal certification for local products. It authorized the minister of culture, chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language, to discuss and sign a draft memorandum of understanding between the academy and the Mohammed Bin Zayed University for Humanities in the United Arab Emirates. The Cabinet approved a memorandum of cooperation between the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah) of Saudi Arabia and the National Archives of India. It adopted the "Unified National Classification of Crimes for Statistical Purposes." And it merged the King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Center for Language Planning and Policies with the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language, and canceling the center"s organization. — SPA
