It will further strengthen cultural ties, people-to-people links between the two countries, says India’s ambassador Ambassador Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan: This decision is consistent with the desire of both our governments to further strengthen the bilateral relationship RIYADH: Saudi Arabia will be the guest of honor at the New Delhi World Book Fair 2024, which will be held from Feb. 10 to 18, it was announced here on Tuesday. The Kingdom will offer the Indian public a glimpse of Saudi Arabia’s culture, led by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, and various cultural entities, including the Heritage Commission, Music Commission, Film Commission, Culinary Arts Commission, Fashion Commission and the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives. Seminars covering the Kingdom’s culture, art and literature will be held, including cuisine and traditional performing arts. India’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, told Arab News: “It’s very exciting news, the Kingdom being invited as the guest of honor at the Delhi World Book Fair will further strengthen cultural ties between the two friendly countries.” He added: “This decision is consistent with the desire of both our governments to further strengthen the bilateral relationship, and in particular to increase cultural ties and the people-to-people links between our two countries.” The New Delhi World Book Fair was launched in 1972 and celebrated 50 years last year. More than 1,000 publishing houses are expected to participate in the event organized by the National Book Trust of India, under the Ministry of Education. The Kingdom’s Ministry of Culture is leading this initiative, under the umbrella of the Vision 2030 plan.
