Iraq, Jordan to host economic forum in April

Discussions will cover banking policies and their crucial role in bolstering the private sector AMMAN: The Iraqi Business Council and the Jordan Chambers of Industry will organize an economic forum on April 2 in a bid to boost financial, industrial and commercial partnerships among regional countries, Jordan News Agency reported. The two-day forum will bring together government officials, corporate leaders, business owners and investors from Jordan, Iraq and other countries to enhance networking and create strategic alliances. Taking place at the King Hussein Convention Centre by the Dead Sea, the event will highlight investment, commercial and industrial prospects in Jordan and Iraq. The discussions will cover banking policies and their crucial role in bolstering the private sector, alongside the future of Jordanian and Iraqi bank collaborations. Key issues such as the effects of digital transformation on banking, healthcare, smart cities and cybersecurity will also be addressed. Saad Naji, vice president of the Iraqi Business Council in Amman, stressed the forum’s importance in examining the investment environment and opportunities in both nations. He said the forum will provide a detailed look at the investment climate, including legal structures, financial avenues, and key initiatives for economic modernization. Fathi Al-Jaghbir, head of the Jordan Chambers of Industry, highlighted the two countries’ significant economic partnership, expressed hope for the strengthening of that partnership, and emphasized the vast cooperation opportunities within their private sectors.
