Jeddah Historic District hosts stargazing event for Ramadan

JEDDAH: The Jeddah Historic District, known as Al-Balad, has emerged as a magnet for stargazers this Ramadan, hosting an event that blends celestial observation with cultural enrichment.  Visitors and tourists were given the opportunity to gaze at the moon and stars through state-of-the-art telescopes, guided by knowledgeable astronomy experts, Saudi Press Agency reported on Sunday.  This engaging event allowed participants to explore and learn about the different phases of the moon during the holy month, enhancing the Ramadan experience. Discussions at the event delved into the intricate relationship between the lunar calendar, Ramadan, and the study of astronomy, offering deeper insights into the periods significance.  This effort is in line with the Ministry of Cultures mission to rejuvenate the countrys heritage and encourage cultural dialogue through events specially curated for Ramadan in the Jeddah Historic District. The seasons events are spread over 30 activation zones, including restaurants, cafes, traditional food stalls, traditional performances, workshops, markets, cultural exhibitions, interactive experiences, and a dedicated kids’ corner.
