Call for complete withdrawal of occupation forces from the enclave DUBAI: Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the secretary-general of the Arab League, on Tuesday called for an end to the humanitarian catastrophe caused by Israel in Gaza; the complete withdrawal of occupation forces from the Gaza Strip; the return of displaced individuals to their homes; and the initiation of a reconstruction process. He added that the actions should be part of a comprehensive plan to implement the two-state solution in the region based on relevant UN Security Council resolutions, with a specific timetable and binding guarantees. Aboul Gheit welcomed mediation efforts by the US, Egypt, and Qatar to achieve a complete ceasefire in Gaza and ensure the delivery of aid to the region. He stressed the need for a serious and strong response from the occupying forces to the proposal put forward by US President Joe Biden to obtain a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
