A 50-year-old Indian pilgrim underwent life-saving heart surgery at King Abdullah Medical City, part of the Makkah Health Cluster, after suffering a severe heart attack. The Makkah Health Cluster reported that the patient was promptly transferred to the hospital after contacting the cardiac catheterization department via a designated hotline. Upon arrival, medical tests confirmed the heart attack. He was immediately taken to the cardiac catheterization department, where the examination revealed complex blockages in his coronary arteries. The team successfully opened one obstructed artery and inserted a stent. However, his condition necessitated open-heart surgery, which was performed the following day and was successful. The patient has since recovered and is now in good health, allowing him to perform his Hajj rituals under medical supervision.
