The letters about class snobbery and accents (12 August) reminded me of the shame I was made to feel when a rather superior nurse tutor told me that I would amount to nothing in my chosen career due to my Geordie accent. Sheila Moore South Shields, Tyne and Wear My daughter and I were disappointed by Reykjavik’s penis museum (Letters, 11 August), with its numerous preserved members in glass jars, but we can recommend the understated Vagina Museum in London to all sexes – it was so informative. I count birds in January, butterflies in July, wasps in August/September, and bumblebees once a month from March to October. Helen MacNab Tunbridge Wells, Kent Perhaps MPs should be subject to the same contract as Paul Spiers, the Bromley street cleaner – no additional earnings (South Londoners raise £3k for street cleaner’s holiday – but bosses say no, 12 August). Maurice Hopper Exeter Is it not just an erratic – a piece of rock transported by glacial action (Stonehenge megalith came from Scotland, not Wales, ‘jaw-dropping’ study finds, 14 August)?
