Secretary General of the MWL Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa praised the work of the ALPS group. The coalition, which includes Saudi Arabia, the US, Switzerland, the UAE, Egypt, the African Union, and the United Nations, is operating under the framework of the Jeddah Declaration and is led by Saudi Arabia. War has raged since April 2023 between the Sudanese army under Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), led by his former deputy Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo.
