Islamic Ministerial Committee on Gaza holds coordination meeting in New York

Members of the Ministerial Committee assigned by the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit on developments in the Gaza Strip held a coordination meeting in New York on Sunday. The meeting was chaired by Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan. The meeting addressed several topics, including efforts to stop Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, the dangerous escalation in the occupied West Bank, ending the humanitarian catastrophe, and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid to all affected areas. The ministerial meeting, held ahead of the high-level week of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, to discuss ways to intensify Arab and Islamic efforts during the General Assembly session to support initiatives aimed at recognizing the Palestinian state and ensuring the fulfillment of the Palestinian people"s right to establish their independent, sovereign state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with occupied Jerusalem as its capital. The meeting was attended by Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Palestine Dr. Mohammed Mustafa; Jordan"s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi; Egypt"s Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Badr Abdelatty; Bahrain"s Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdullatif Al-Zayani; Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan; Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia Retno Marsudi; Qatar"s Minister of State Dr. Mohammed Al-Khulaifi; Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit; and Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Hissein Brahim Taha. The meeting was attended by Director General of the Office of the Foreign Minister Abdulrahman AlDawood and Counsellor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Manal Radwan.
