Summary The present report contains the findings of the International Independent Expert Mechanism to Advance Racial Justice and Equality in Law Enforcement on its visit to Brazil, undertaken from 27 November to 8 December 2023, pursuant to Human Rights Council resolution 47/21. The visit sought to focus on both good practices and challenges faced by Brazil in upholding its human rights obligations on non-discrimination in the context of law enforcement and the criminal justice system, with a focus on Africans and people of African descent.
