Saudi FM attends G7 foreign ministers meet on Mideast in Italy

Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan attended on Monday the expanded session of the second meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the G7 countries together with their counterparts from some Arab countries titled “Together for the Stability of the Middle East” in Fiuggi, Italy. The Arab countries were represented in the meeting by Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Egypt, in addition to the secretary general of the Arab League. Addressing the session, Prince Faisal highlighted the importance of strengthening multiple partnerships to confront regional and international challenges. He also spoke about the developments in Gaza and Lebanon. Prince Faisal stressed the need for the international community to assume its responsibilities and move towards an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, ensuring the delivery of aid without restrictions, and working to establish an independent Palestinian state through the two-state solution. The foreign minister stressed the need to de-escalate in Lebanon and respect its sovereignty. He also emphasized the urgent need to reach a permanent solution to the crisis in Sudan and end the human suffering there. The meeting was attended by Prince Faisal bin Sattam, Saudi ambassador to Italy.
