Malaysian Prime Minister Dato Seri Mohammad Najib Tun Abdul Razzaq has received a letter sent by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz to King of Malaysia Sultan Mohammed V. The letter was conveyed by Saudi Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources Eng. Khalid al-Falih in Kedah on Wednesday. During the meeting between Falih and Abdul Razzaq, both parties reviewed fields of cooperation and the joint work between the two sisterly countries, including cooperation to enhance balance in world oil markets, whose results are clearly shown through the agreement reached by OPEC and non-OPEC countries early this year to cut oil production. The meeting also tackled the developments in international oil markets, the progress of the agreement to cut oil production and the importance of the commitment of the participating countries in this agreement to the cut rates allocated to each country in order to achieve balance in the international oil market. The preparations for the meeting between OPEC and non-OPEC countries that will be held in Austria, Vienna, on November 30, 2017 and means of working to support the reasons for the success of the meeting were also discussed for the benefit of the two countries as well as those that export and import oil. Falih, for his part, discussed with Abdul Razzaq the most important aspects of bilateral cooperation in the fields of energy, industry and investment, especially the progress made between Aramco and Petronas Chemicals to implement Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development (RAPID) Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex. The two countries welcomed Saudi Aramcos partnership with Malaysias Petronas to develop and own this giant and integrated complex for refining and petrochemicals in Johor, Malaysia, which will significantly contribute to supporting the long-term economic partnership between the two countries and enhancing their cooperation in the field of energy.
