King Salman Receives British Treasury Secretary

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz met at his office at al-Yamamah Palace on Sunday with British Treasury Secretary Philip Hammond. During the meeting, the King reviewed bilateral relations with the British Secretary, precisely in the economic field, and means to develop them in line with Saudi Vision 2030. The meeting was attended by Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Cabinets Member and Chief of Royal Court Khalid al-Issa, Minister of Finance Mohammed al-Jadaan, British Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Simon Collis, and UK Prime Minister and Foreign Secretarys Special Representative Ken Costa. Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Defense, also met with Hammond. During the meeting, they discussed aspects of cooperation between the Kingdom and Britain in the economic and development fields and promising opportunities in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. In other news, King Salman will patronize Monday night the honoring ceremony for the winners of King Khalid Prize 2017 in its three branches including: Development Partners, Excellence of Non-Profit Organizations and Responsible Competitiveness. Governor of Asir Region Prince Faisal bin Khalid, who is also the Chairman of King Khalid Prize Commission, lauded the Custodians patronage of this ceremony, pointing out that it comes within the framework of the leaderships continuous support for national non-profit establishments in all regions of the Kingdom to enable them to achieve sustainability of their current and future projects. Prince Faisal indicated that the award is named after King Khalid because of his great influence in the history of Saudi Arabia. This year, the prize was awarded to ten winners. In the Development Partners category: "Make their Wishes" won first place, "Kan Yama" initiative took the second place, and "Taedeel Masar" initiative came in third. In the branch Excellence of Non-Profit Organizations: "Al-Mawaddah Association for Family Development in Jeddah" won the first place, "Osraty Association for Family Development in al-Madinah" came in second, while "Al-Kawthar Charitable Medical Organization in Asir" took the third place. In the third section "Responsible Competitiveness": "Arabian Drilling Company" ranked first, "Saudi Arabian Mining Company, Maaden" came in second place, and the third place was shared between "Middle East Paper Company, MEPCO" and "Special Direction".
