United Nations Deputy Special Envoy to Yemen Moin Shreem concluded on Wednesday five-day consultations with leaders of the Houthi militia and their political components in light of the rejection of the pro-Iranian group of the UN proposals submitted by Shreim and their insistence on continuing to fight the legitimate government forces. The UN official refused to make any press statements to the media while he was departing Sanaa airport with his aids, which likely means that he failed in his mission to convince the coup group of the recent UN proposals. The proposals included the hand over of the Hodeidah port to the legitimate government and the unconditional return to negotiations with the legitimate government to achieve peace based on the terms of reference of the dialogue and relevant Security Council resolutions. Meanwhile, coalition fighter jets launched more than 30 air strikes on a camp of Houthi militias and neighboring sites in the area of "Dilaa Hamadan" west of Sanaa that was followed by the sound of huge explosions, which were believed to be caused by the destruction of weapon stores and missile bases. Houthi militias have repeatedly fired ballistic missiles from the same area targeted by coalition aircraft. The strikes followed the groups announcement that it had succeeded in developing surface-to-air missiles in an attempt to build an air defense system. Head of the Supreme Political Council of the group, the Governing Council, Saleh al-Samad, threatened earlier in his meeting with the Deputy UN envoy to cut off international navigation in the Red Sea in response to the progress of government forces in the West Coast Front towards the port of Hodeidah. On the other hand, the new executive leadership of the General People’s Congress (GPC) Party held its first meeting on Wednesday since it was assigned last Sunday to carry out the partys functions in Sanaa, during a meeting of some pro-Houthi leaders. Leader of the party Sadiq Amin Abu Ras revealed that Saleh’s commandment was to "preserve the party." He said that efforts to release the rest of the detainees in Houthi prisons are ongoing, including the relatives of the former president. According to “Almotamar. Net,” the meeting stressed the development of detailed plans for the activity of the party in the coming days, including re-contacting with the bases of the party and its branches in different regions as well as responding to media campaigns that attack the leaders of the party in Sanaa. Notably, the leaders of the party and its branches inside and outside Yemen refused in statements the results of the latest "Sanaa meeting" and considered it null and void. They confirmed that President Abd-Rabbuh Mansour Hadi is the legitimate president of the party in accordance with the regulations of the GPC.
