A gallery in the Russian capital opened on Saturday an exhibition that undertakes a daring task, lifting the curtain on the way of life in reclusive North Korea. The exhibition is held at the Ultra Modern Art Museum, which opened in November 2017 and had already gained fame for hosting an exhibition of artworks dedicated to President Vladimir Putin. One of the more memorable pieces of that exhibit featured the Russian leader riding an armored bear. The North Korea show meanwhile centers around artifacts produced in one of the world’s most secretive nations. It features postal stamps, books, food products, toys and portraits of the three generations of North Korean leaders, as well as propaganda posters depicting the US military captured by Korean troops. According to the organizers, all the objects were recently brought in from North Korea. North Korean Embassy officials invited to the opening commented on the exposition, saying that it will show the world the truth about their country. "Many Western media outlets are promoting misleading propaganda about North Korea. Therefore, we believe that this exhibition is a very good move made by the Museum of Ultra Modern Art so the Russian people and the whole world can see a true and fair picture of North Korea,” they added. Curator Darya Dubenko said that the delegation offered the gallery several pictures, but also requested to have several images of North Korean leaders removed from the display.
