King Salman Kicks off Al-Janadriya National Heritage Festival

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz inaugurated in al-Janadriya village on Wednesday the 32nd National Festival for Heritage and Culture, organized by the ministry of national guard, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). Upon arrival at the venue, the monarch was received by Prince Khalid bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, minister of national guard, who is also the Chairman of the Supreme Committee for the National Festival for Heritage and Culture; and Abdulmohsin bin Abdulaziz Al-Twaijri, Deputy minister of national guard, and Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Committee for the festival. He then received Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber, Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait; Asaad bin Tareq Al Saeed, Deputy Premier for International Relations and Cooperation of the Sultanate of Oman; Shaikh General Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, Chief of National Guard of the Kingdom of Bahrain; and Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Council of Trustees of Sheikh Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation. The grand camel race then followed while folkloric bands performed popular dances, said SPA. The monarch then handed out awards to the winners. Later during the evening, King Salman opened the pavilions of Misk Foundation where he was received by Secretary General Bader Al-Assaker and a number of officials. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques toured the pavilion where he was briefed on the projects of Saudi Aramco, the Saudi Electricity Company, King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy, the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), Saudi Geological Survey, Maaden Company, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, Saudi Industrial Development Fund, King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center, Industrial Clusters, and Saudi Export Development Authority and Saudi Organization for Industrial Estates Technology Zones (Modon). King Salman attended the signing ceremony of an energy purchase agreement between Acwa Power and Saudi Electricity Company. Earlier, he had held talks with visiting Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj on bilateral relations and ways to bolster and develop them in various fields.
