Britain’s Sound Energy has said it plans a three-well gas exploration drilling program in eastern Morocco this year. The company confirmed its exploration plans for 2018 in eastern Morocco following the completion of the aerial gradiometry program and the early results of the ongoing seismic surveys. Sound Energys internal assessment is that its eastern Morocco licenses contain exploration potential of 17 trillion cubic feet (TCF). The company has made an internal estimate that there could be between 9 and 31 TCF of gas. The drilling location will be 25 kilometers northwest and northeast of TE-5 Horst. Drilling of the first well is slated to kick off in July. It is due to be followed by another well in September. The third would potentially be drilled in November.
