The Saudi Public Prosecution announced on Sunday that it would start hiring Saudi women as investigation officers. It added that the application process started on Sunday, Feb. 11, and would continue until March 3. As for the conditions to submit an application, the Saudi Public Prosecution said all applicants must be Saudis with good conduct certificate, qualified for the position, have a relevant university degree with no less than a C grade. They should also pass aptitude tests and physical exams to prove their fitness for the position. The position of investigation officer is the first rank of the members of the Investigation and Prosecution Commission. The staff member or employee is subject to a training course of not less than 6 months prior to assuming the functions of the post, which includes carrying out investigations under the supervision of the higher-ranking officers, conducting public proceedings and supervising the implementation of relevant laws. On a different note, after the Saudi authorities referred 56 people, who were arrested in the anti-corruption campaign launched by the Kingdom on November 4, 2017 to the Public Prosecution, sources told Asharq Al-Awsat that the Ritz-Carlton Riyadh, where the detainees were held, reopened for business on Sunday. Sources at the Ritz-Carlton Riyadh told Asharq Al-Awsat that all the remaining detainees were evacuated and the hotel had no detainees since last Wednesday. “We can confirm that the hotel had no detainees since last Wednesday in preparation for the official opening yesterday,” said the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity. Since Nov. 4, the Riyadh Ritz-Carlton held more than 200 princes, ministers and businessmen accused of corruption.
