The Saudi cabinet reiterated on Tuesday its keenness on a stable Iraq, underlining the historic ties that bind the two countries. Chaired by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the cabinet added from Riyadh that it constantly stands by all the people of Iraq. At a donor conference in Kuwait last week, Saudi Arabia had dedicated a billion dollars for the reconstruction of Iraq. Another $500 million were dedicated to funding Saudi exports to its neighbor. King Salman then briefed the ministers on the details of his telephone calls with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). The King also briefed the cabinet on his meetings with Russian Minister of Energy Alexander Novak, of Bosnian Minister of Security Dragan Mektic, Swiss Finance Minister Ueli Maurer, Dutch Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Sigrid Kaag, Chairman of the US House Foreign Affairs Committee Ed Royce and US Congressman Paul Cook. The cabinet then commended the statement of foreign ministers of the Global Coalition against ISIS issued at the conclusion of their meeting in Kuwait last week. It highlighted its emphasis on moving forward in defeating and eradicating the terrorist organization, the continuation of the efforts by the Coalition in its war, adjusting development to the nature of a threat, and continuing regular coordination on the best way to address threats, said SPA.
