Saudi Arabia renewed on Tuesday its strong condemnation of the weekend’s suicide attack in the Afghan capital Kabul. The cabinet, chaired by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, offered its condolences to the families of the victim, stressing that it stands by Afghanistan in its fight against terrorism and extremism. King Salman kicked off the meeting at the al-Yamamh palace in Riyadh by briefing the ministers on the telephone calls he held with Brazilian President Michel Temer, Argentine President Mauricio Macri, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Norwegian PM Erna Solberg, The cabinet then addressed the latest Arab, regional and international developments. The government also highlighted King Salman’s inauguration on Saturday of the al-Qiddiya recreational, sports and cultural city. The entertainment city will be established west of Riyadh. It will reflect the Kingdom’s efforts and missions to develop mega-projects in line with its Vision 2030. The project will generate more revenue for Saudi Arabia and push forward sustainable development. The cabinet also assessed the positive results achieved by the security agencies at the Interior Ministry, as shown in its annual report that was released on Sunday. It hailed the unique and successive accomplishments reached by the ministry. It highlighted in this regard the marked drop in crime rates, which has in turn raised safety in the Kingdom.
