The Specialized Criminal Court in Riyadh has held a hearing on the case of a Yemeni who is accused of sending information about vital Saudi locations and military bases to Houthi insurgents in exchange for money and a position. The Saudi Public Prosecution asserted that the accused had contacted hostile terrorist parties informing them about the locations of military and state facilities to undermine state security, interests and properties. The Yemeni man admitted that he supports the Houthis, designated as a terrorist organization since taking over the Yemeni capital Sanaa in 2014, said the Public Prosecution, adding that he had sent photos and coordinates of vital Saudi military bases to Houthi leaders and members. The accused violated the regulations through his illegal entry to the kingdom several times, and betrayed Saudi Arabia after it hosted him and issued him a visitors identity. He has also saved, prepared and sent messages via WhatsApp, in a breach to public order. The Prosecutor demanded the Public Prosecution to uphold the charges and issue a death sentence in this case due to the dangerous crimes he has committed. The Prosecutor also called for imposing on him the maximum penalty as mentioned in article (6) paragraph (1) of the cyber-crime system, in addition to confiscating his mobile device.
