Saudi air defenses intercepted on Monday a ballistic missile that was fired by the Iran-backed Houthi militias in Yemen against the Kingdom, reported the Saudi Press Agency. Coalition spokesman Colonel Turki al-Maliki said that the missile was fired on Monday evening from the Yemeni region of Amran towards Saudi Arabia’s Najran city. He charged that the militias were deliberately targeting residential areas, but the air defenses managed to intercept and destroy the missile. No one was injured in the incident, he added. This hostile act demonstrates the Iranian regime’s ongoing involvement in supporting the Houthis with weapons in clear and blatant violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions 2216 and 2231, he stressed.
