Saudi air intercepted on Saturday a ballistic missile fired by the Iran-backed Houthi militias in Yemen against the Kingdom’s Jizan region. Saudi-led Arab coalition spokesman Colonel Turki al-Maliki said that the missile was fired from Yemen’s Amran region on Saturday evening and detected by the air defenses. The rocket was deliberately launched towards Jizan to target civilian and residential areas. The air defenses successfully intercepted and destroyed the missile. No one was injured in the incident, said Maliki. “This hostile act, carried out by the terrorist Iranian Houthi militia, proves that the Iranian regime is still providing them with advanced capabilities, in flagrant defiance of United Nations Security Council resolutions 2216 and 2231, with the main objective of threatening Saudi, regional and international security,” Maliki stated.
