The Saudi government praised on Tuesday last week’s visit by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman to the Northern Border Region, reported the Saudi Press Agency. They hailed his trips to Tabuk, al-Jawf and the northern region and inauguration of a number of development and industrial projects. King Salman chaired the cabinet session that was held at the al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh. The ministers stressed that his tour was part of his support for the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 that is aimed at diversifying the economy. The monarch then briefed the gatherers on the meeting he held Monday with Niger’s President Mahamadou Issoufou. The two officials held talks on cooperation and bolstering bilateral ties. Moreover, the cabinet said it was anticipating the results of the ongoing tour by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, to a number of Arab countries. They said that the tour should bolster Saudi ties with regional and international powers, adding that it was a reflection of the ongoing cooperation with fraternal countries. Prince Mohammed had kicked off his tour on Thursday by visiting the United Arab Emirates. He then traveled to Bahrain on Sunday before arriving in Egypt on Monday.
