RIYADH: Arab News RiyadhThe King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) on Sunday signed an agreement with the Yemeni Development Network for NGOs to distribute 3,000 tons of dates. The agreement was signed by KSRelief’s assistant supervisor general of operations and programs, Ahmed Al-Baiz, at the center’s Riyadh headquarters. The head of the Urgent Aid Department at the center, Fahad Al-Osaimy, said 375,000 boxes of dates would be distributed to the most vulnerable and crisis-affected groups in the governorates of Abyan, Al-Bayda, Dhale, Al-Hodeidah, Al-Jawf, Amran, Ma’rib, Sana’a, Shabwah and Taiz. The date distribution program and other projects from KSRelief are being carried out in Yemen to improve food security and alleviate suffering. Recently, KSRelief revealed a plan to support the health sector in Yemen, in coordination with Yemen’s High Relief Committee. According to the center, it provides dialysis solutions and other medications necessary for treating chronic diseases to Yemen. The center has implemented numerous health projects in Taiz, including support for Al-Thawra Hospital, which the center has provided with equipment, supplies and medicines.  KSRelief has also launched a series of health campaigns in the region and outside to provide suffering humanity proper health care. On Sunday, the medical team of the center conducted 80 eye surgeries and provided treatment to 275 patients with different eye ailments in Senegal. In Bangladesh, KSRelief concluded its campaign to combat blindness and eye diseases during which 717 surgeries were performed and overall 6,700 people received different types of medical treatments.
