Saudi corona cases up by 157; six deaths reported

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia recorded 157 new coronavirus cases and six new virus-related deaths in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday. The total number of cases in Saudi Arabia now stands at 1,720, while the death increased to 16, Ministry of Health spokesman Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdel Ali said at a press briefing. The new virus-related deaths are of three residents in Madinah, one Saudi citizen also in Madinah, one resident in Riyadh, and another resident in Makkah, he said. Out of the 157 infected cases, 78 were reported in Madinah, 55 in Makkah, seven in Riyadh, and six in Al-Qatif, the spokesman said. The ministry also recorded three new cases in Jeddah, three others in Hufof, two in Tabuk, another two in Taif, and one new case in Al-Henakiyah. A total of 264 people have recovered from the coronavirus, according to the spokesman.
