UAE announces 812 new coronavirus cases, 3 deaths

ABU DHABI — Another 812 new coronavirus cases were recorded in the United Arab Emirates during the past 24 hours, raising the total number of COVID-19 infection in the country to 28,704, the Ministry of Health and Prevention announced on Saturday. The ministry also announced three more deaths, taking the country’s death toll from coronavirus to 244. According to the ministry, the deceased, who are from different countries, died due to complications that resulted from being infected with coronavirus. A total of 697 more patients have recovered after receiving the necessary treatment and care, bringing the number of recoveries up to 14,495. All the new cases are in a stable condition and they were identified as a result of more than 39,000 additional tests conducted by the health authorities among citizens and residents over the past few days, the ministry said. The ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to all patients. It urged the public to comply with all precautionary measures, particularly social distancing regulations, to ensure the safety and protection of the public.
