RIYADH — The Saudi Project for Landmine Clearance (Masam), one of the initiatives of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief), in Yemen, has extracted 183,000 mines since the beginning of the project, saving lives and limbs of thousands of innocent children, farmers, women, merchants, laborers and citizens who are not involved in the war. In a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency on Wednesday, the director-general of the Masam project, Osamah Al-Gasabi, said that thousands have already sustained serious injuries and disabilities as a result of the explosion of unmapped mines planted by the Houthi militias. He confirmed that his organization is working day and night to make Yemen free of mines shortly. The project aims to dismantle mines in Yemen to protect civilians and as well as to facilitate the safe supply of humanitarian aid to the country.
