The leadership in Saudi Arabia spares no effort in supporting Iraq at all levels, Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan said during Baghdad summit on Saturday. Foreign Minister Prince Faisal said: “Saudi Arabia appreciates the role Iraq government has played in its campaign to get illegal arms out of the hands of militias.” “Saudi Arabia continues to coordinate with Iraq to confront the threat of extremism and the Kingdom continues to stand by Iraq.” Prince Faisal said that dialogue is Saudi Arabia’s approach to dealing with any international or regional disputes. The foreign minister praised the achievements of the Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council and the establishment of a joint investment fund that has an estimated capital of $3 billion (SR11.3 billion). The Kingdom also values the efforts of the Iraqi government to gain control of weapons that have fallen into the hands of armed militias, Prince Faisal said. Prince Faisal added that the Kingdom continues to cooperate with Iraq and partner countries in the region to confront the threat of terrorism, and supports Baghdad’s efforts to cooperate with the international coalition to confront the remnants of Daesh (so-called IS). Prince Faisal reiterated that the Kingdom would continue to work to enhance Iraq’s security and stability, and preserve its institutions and gains.
