The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary General Dr. Yousef Bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen lauded the Middle East Green Initiative and the Saudi Green Initiative which aim to contribute to efforts of combating climate change via raising vegetation cover, reducing carbon emissions, combating pollution and land degradation as well as preserving wildlife in Middle Eastern countries. This came during the opening ceremony of the Middle East Green Initiative Summit, inaugurated here Monday by Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman. He hailed the important and pioneering role played by Saudi Arabia under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and the Crown Prince, citing their efforts to unify and strengthen international efforts to address the various challenges facing the world, especially in the field of environment and climate. — SPA
