Dr. Al Rabeeah, Abdo discuss relief projects in Djibouti

Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah met in Riyadh Tuesday Minister of Social Affairs and Solidarity in the Republic of Djibouti Ouloufa Ismail Abdo. During the meeting, the two sides discussed issues of common interest relating to humanitarian and relief affairs as well as the humanitarian projects being implemented by KSrelief in Djibouti, where they have implemented 16 projects in the health, food, among other sectors. The minister commended Saudi Arabia’s pioneering role in the humanitarian field, praising at the same time the professional mechanism of KSrelief in delivering aid to those who deserve it around the world. Meanwhile, KSrelief Tuesday inaugurated a project to support food security for 2021-2022 in the Aden governorate of Yemen. The project targets distributing 12,300 food baskets over six phases in Al-Bariqah, Al-Sheikh Othman and Dar Saad districts to benefit 2,050 families in each phase. KSrelief Branch Director in Aden Saleh Al-Thibani said that the distribution process also targets the most vulnerable families that are within the 4th phase of the classification of lacking food security, citing the project as part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s permanent support to meet the needs of Yemeni people and alleviate their suffering. Undersecretary of Aden governorate for Development Affairs Adnan Al-Kaf praised the efforts of KSrelief in meeting the food needs of the needy categories in Aden, stressing that KSrelief projects covered all vital sectors. This is part of the project to support food security for 2021-2022 that KSrelief is now implementing in Yemen and targets distributing more than 192,000 food baskets with a total weight of more than 20,000 tons to underprivileged and affected families in 15 Yemeni governorates. In Al-Mahrah, KSrelief has distributed 89.238 tons of food baskets in Al-Ghaydhah, Hasween, and Al-Masilah districts of Al-Mahrah Governorate, Yemen, benefiting 5,004 people, it was reported. The assistance which took place Tuesday, is part of a project KSrelief is implementing in Yemen during 2021-2022 to support food security, targeting the distribution of more than 192,000 food baskets with a total weight of more than 20,000 tons to underprivileged and affected families in 15 Yemeni governorates. — SPA
