Al-Sheikh holds official talks with Speaker of Pakistan National Assembly

Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan Asad Qaiser underlined the distinguished level of relations between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in various fields, saying these ties are further boosted by the brotherly popular bond that reached the level of single loyalty. He made the remarks during a session of official talks with Speaker of the Saudi Shoura Council Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh, who is currently on an official visit to Pakistan. Qiaser praised the efforts of the Kingdom, under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, in caring for the Two Holy Mosques. He also expressed appreciation for the high level of parliamentary relations between the National Assembly of Pakistan and the Shoura Council of Saudi Arabia, commending Sheikh Dr. Al Al-Sheikh’s interest and keenness to further enhance this cooperation. Qaiser praised the prominent role played by Saudi Arabia in supporting Islamic peoples and causes, such as the humanitarian support to the Afghan people. He stressed, at the same, that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia can play an important role in improving conditions in Afghanistan and contribute to overcoming the crisis facing the Afghan people. Dr. Al Al-Sheikh, during the discussions session, praised the solid relations connecting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, noting that they are historical deep-rooted ties that necessitate all to work towards further enhancing and boosting them through holding effective meetings and agreements that can draw a practical path to realize the aspirations and hopes of the two brotherly peoples and countries. He said the Saudi-Pakistani ties are not only friendly, but also brotherly that resulted in matching visions and points of view over various issues. He referred to the continuous and historical stances of Saudi Arabia in supporting issues of mutual interest with Pakistan. He also expressed his gratitude and appreciation for Qaiser’s invitation to visit Pakistan to exchange opinions and ideas on various cooperation files and parliamentary action between the Shoura Council and National Assembly, and activating the role of joint parliamentary committees. Discussions also went over various issues of mutual interest, cooperation aspects and enhancing coordination at the parliamentary level in Islamic, regional and international events. Several members and officials of the Shoura Council and the Kingdom"s Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki attended the session. — SPA
