Dr. Hanan Al-Ahmadi, assistant speaker of the Shoura Council, has won the prestigious International Award for Exceptional Achievement from Tulane University in the United States of America. She was presented with the award at the 48th award ceremony of the university. The award was given to university graduates who represent the highest standards of excellence and stand out in professional fields and community service at the local and international levels. Addressing the ceremony after receiving the award, Dr. Hanan said that the foreign scholarship program is one of the pillars of the education strategy of Saudi Arabia, as the program contributes to acquiring knowledge from distinguished institutions around the world. She noted that there are more than 50,000 Saudi scholarship students who are pursuing their higher studies in the American universities. Dr. Hanan praised the launch of the Strategy of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Scholarship Program by Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, who is also chairman of the Human Capability Development Program Committee, saying that the strategy aims to enroll students in elite educational institutions around the world, with a focus on high-level education and capability development, research, and to meet the needs of the huge development projects that are taking place in Saudi Arabia. She emphasized that Saudi Arabia has gone through many changes in the past few years. Highlighting the launch of Vision 2030, she said the vision serves as an engine for change at the social, cultural and economic levels, and has contributed to empowering women in society and enhancing their participation in various fields. All this is due to the great investment in women’s education in the Kingdom,” she said. Dr. Hanan thanked the Board of Directors of Tulane University for choosing her for the award. She also congratulated all those who received the university’s awards for this year in various categories. In a press statement after the ceremony, Dr. Hanan said that the selection of her for this award has been achieved thanks to the great support and keenness enjoyed by Saudi women from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and the Crown Prince. “This enabled me to reach leadership positions through which I was able to become a participant in decision-making and an active player in advancing development, and scoring many scientific, economic and social achievements,” she said. Dr. Hanan emphasized that the wise leadership’s confidence in Saudi women has contributed to activating their presence in international and regional forums, and representing the Kingdom on all occasions.
