Moroccan Foreign Affairs Minister Nasser Bourita met Monday with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman al-Safadi in Amman. The two ministers discussed ways to activate joint Arab action to serve Arab issues, especially the Palestinian cause. During the talks, the two officials hailed the deep-rooted ties between the two kingdoms, and their keenness to develop them in various fields. In joint press statements, Safadi said that Jordan is proud of the strategic and historical ties that link the two kingdoms, saying that he discussed with Bourita the practical steps needed to boost cooperation between the two countries. On the Palestinian issue, Bourita said that Morocco supports the two-state solution to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, by establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital on the June 1967 borders. Bourita and Al-Safadi also discussed means to ease issuing visas between the two kingdoms.
