The Saudi Red Crescent Authority teams in the northwestern Tabuk region rescued a young Saudi citizen who fell from a hilltop in a rugged mountainous area. The injured citizen, who is in his 30s, was taken to King Salman Military Hospital in Tabuk. Nawaf Al-Anzi, director general of the authority’s branch in Tabuk, said that its command and control room received information about the fall of a citizen from a hilltop on the Sharma-Tabuk Road. Soon, an ambulance team from the authority’s Naami center rushed to the scene. The team found that the young man was trapped in a rugged mountainous area that is difficult to reach. Immediately the response team, who received special training to handle rescue operations in rugged terrain, was called in. The team managed to rescue the man and provided him with first aid before transferring him to King Salman Military Hospital in Tabuk. Al-Anzi said that this was the third case of rescue carried out by the team during the year 2022. He urged the public to seek emergency service in the event of any such incidents happening by calling the toll-free number 997, or by requesting ambulance service through the Asa’fani application or a distress call from the Tawakkalna application so as to save a lot of time and effort as it enables to locate with high accuracy anyone trapped in rugged terrain.
