Berlin, Rabi'I 11, 1436, Jan 2, 2015, SPA -- German Chancellor Angela Merkel's Christian Democratic Union marks the 70th anniversary of its founding this year with its general secretary Friday calling on the party to step up efforts to better integrate immigrants. "The debate (about immigration) is mainly focused on the labour market," Peter Tauber told dpa. "And that is correct as professionals are needed to close gaps (in the jobs market)." But Tauber said he is also concerned about the need to help to integrate immigrants into wider German society, which includes about 15 million people with an migrant background.
