Gruevski said that his centre-right VMRO-DPMNE party refused to respond to "blackmail" from its junior coalition partners, the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI), the 24Vesti portal reported. The decision on snap polls was expected, as VMRO and DUI were unable to reach agreement on a joint candidate for presidential elections.
