Commenting on the problem of Sudan, the Abha-based Al-Watan said in the light of the recent developments including the arrest warrant against Sudanese President Omar Hassan Al-Basheer, the Sudanese, either the government or the opposition, should forget their differences and work together to rescue their country. The paper noted that the recent announcement of the Sudanese government for its plans to try persons involved in war crimes in Darfur is a step in the right direction. As regards the brothers of Sudan, the paper said it is not enough to voice solidarity with heart, but their solidarity should be rational and reasonable taking into account the previous experiences. Al-Watan pointed out that the Arab countries in addition to China, Russia and some European countries have expressed understanding for the problem of Sudan and even UN’s secretary general Ban Ki-moon remarked that there is still time before Sudan to postpone the international accusations against its president.
